“Rose Elliot became a cookery writer by accident. She was planning to take a history degree when she met and married her husband and became involved in cooking, entertaining and having babies. It was while looking after the latter that she began scribbling down her recipes. These led to her first book, Simply Delicious, which in turn brought requests for cookery demonstrations. It was the invention of new recipes which led to her second book, Not Just a Load of Old Lentils, and patient research into recipes using pulses resulted in The Bean Book.”
