This book is intended to follow Commercial Cake Decoration, a work first published some twenty-two years ago.
The time lapse may appear a somewhat lengthy one, as, even at the time of writing such a purely commercial treatise on cake decorating, it was admitted that there was scope for something more advanced.  But the intervention of the war made the proposed advanced book impossible and, with the rebirth of decoration following the war lapse, a new and modern Commercial Cake Decoration was written to meet the changing times.
Modern trends are towards something quicker that of old; something showing more economy of effort, time and materials, and to meet that need the outlined pattern and run-in work of modern practice has been evolved.  Such work is the paramount theme of this book."
