“Born an American, Yvonne was taken to live in England while still very young.  At school she won a commercial art scholarship and then worked in an advertising studio as a fashion artist.  After her marriage she lived in a nature reserve on the edge of the largest and wildest of the Norfolk Broads.  From here she illustrated many children’s books for publishers such as A. & C. Black, Hutchinson and Collins.
In 1969 Yvonne came to Australia with her son and daughter and was entranced by the strange new animals and birds she encountered.  In 1970 she was background artist for Australia’s full length animated feature film – Marco Polo Junior.
Yvonne now mainly concentrates on flower and landscape painting and has won several awards.  Possum One, the Outback Rocket Ship, was her first Australian book.”
