'This volume covers the faunas and floras of the Mesozoic era which, according to the latest authorities, ranged from about 225 million to 70 million years ago.  This was the so-called 'Age of Reptiles', but unfortunately i this country reptilian remains are scarce and the amateur collector will be fortunate to find more than an occasional ichthyosaurian vertebra in suitable localities.'
