Classing the Clip

A Handbook on Wool-Classing

by Clarence Edward Cowley

Angus and Robertson, 1946, black and white photographic plates and illustrations, black and white photographic frontispiece, hardcover

Very Good Condition, some edge and shelf wear, some rubbing and bumping to edges and corners, some rubbing to covers, previous owners gift inscriptions on front endpapers, age toned pages (see photographs)

This is a reprint of the fourth edition of Classing the Clip the subject matter of which was extended and brought up to date so as to bring it into line with present day requirements.  Beyond this the essential features of the previous editions have been retained.
These include chapters dealing with the history and evolution of the sheep and wool industry in Australia; the characteristics of the wool of the various States of the Commonwealth and New Zealand; the distinctive features and outstanding properties of other animal fibres which fill a more or less important place in textile manufacture; and a special reference to the preparation of the various classes of wool forming the New Zealand wool clip.”
