Thomas Foster, in 1930, while on the staff of the National Bank, enjoyed a dynamic born again experience and immediately felt a call from God to enter the Ministry of the Church.
In 1932, after preliminary training in the Presbyterian Church, served as Minister in Training in several churches in Victoria and West Australia, with the Home Mission Department. In 1934, he was miraculously healed at a Full Gospel service and eventually received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. he graduated with distinction in 1938 from the Garrison Bible College in London, England, and later ministered int eh British Isles, Canada, U.S.A. and New Zealand.
During World War II, he served in the Armed Forces with the A.I.F. from 1942-1945, as a Senior Y.M.C.A. Welfare officer. In June, 1953, Mr Foster was invited by the London B.B.C. to take part in the Radio News Reel to Australia of the Royal Coronation Procession, of which he gave a graphic description from outside Buckingham Palace.
For 28 years, from 1945-1973, he was Pastor of the Assembly now known as the Crusade Centre, 128 Lennox Street, Richmond, associated with the Christian Revival Crusade.
In 1978 he ministered in Cairo, before taking a group of 25 Australians on a conducted tour through the interior of the Great Pyramid. This was followed by services in Jerusalem, Belfast, Singapore and Darwin, where many were blessed under his ministry."
