“After Pollyanna's husband Jimmy's job in Mexico ends, the family returns to New York City. He quickly accepts a job offer, but it's one that will take him away for a year. In his absence, Pollyanna is expected to support the family with their savings account. Unfortunately, their bank goes under -- taking the family money with it. Pollyanna takes the children to her previous home of Boston, finds rooms in a boarding house, and sets out looking for work. “
