“This special Collection of early Australian Recipes has been compiled as part of Bushell’s Centenary Celebrations. Many of the recipes reproduced in this book were originally published in early editions of Bushell’s recipe books such as :How to Make Delicious Cakes” and “How to Read Teacups” as were the advertisements featured on several of the pages. Naturally, the advertising content no longer applies and, in fact some of the products featured, such as Bushell’s Cocoa are no longer being manufactured. However, these advertisements do reflect the lifestyle of our past… the tea parties… the special treats for children,,, family occasions… country homestead meals and much more.
Some of the recipes in this collection may have been forgotten and others have become part of our daily lives. But they all have one thing in common: they are distinctively Australian – as Australian as Bushells.”
