'Jervis Sparks, an international mining consultant, specializing in training personnel in developing countries and writing mining exploration drilling manuals, has worked in more than twenty countries on the five continents.
Between projects, he and his wife Bridget live in one of the Barranjoey Lighthouse keeper's cottages which they have restored, to the 1800's original ambiance, still without electricity, enjoying a lifestyle in harmony with nature.
They are constantly researching material connected with the history and the environment of the area, and are volunteers with the Chase Alive program of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
