“The Boy Who Talked With Bunyips is an unusual story set in the Spring of 1772, just two years after the discovery of the east coast of Australia by Captain James Cook.  The story tells of the many adventures of two runaway aborigine children Ippi and Oola as they fled for their lives from their tribal territory.
Their journey commenced from a point near Dubbo, in Western New South Wales, and took them north to what is now known as the Warrumbungle Mountains, then eastward to the coast.  Their epic journey, which had many perils, ended at a place called the Quiet Water which we know today as Port Stephens.  Along the way Ippi and Oola were helped by the Bunyips who turn out to be most surprising creatures with an interesting story of their own to tell!”
