“This Cookery Book does not claim to be complete nor original, but merely purports to be a collection of recipes which have been tested, liked by, or have interest for the persons whose name are attached to them. By this means though a comprehensive selection is not ensured, a very varied one is. And though it may appear as if there were in some instances duplication of recipes, on examination it will be found that slight differences do exist, either in quantities or method, and every cook knows that a very slight variation may make all the difference.”
