“The Willerbys go to the old ruined castle for a picnic – only to find a strange man there, who tells them the castle is out of bounds for excavation by the Council. But when the children check up later, the Council say there is no work going on at the castle. That’s the first mystery, and others quickly follow. A nice man offers Claire £5 for Great-Aunt’s old blue vase – but the vase turns out to be a very valuable antique. And soon after the discovery, the vase is stolen! It looks as if it must be the junk man. But how to trace him? And how does all this tie up with the abandoned van and the underground noises at the old castle?
The Willerbys go to investigate at dusk one evening, and then the chase is on – in the tunnels underneath the castle…”
