"Ian Gawler was a decathlon athlete and a young veterinary surgeon with a successful country practice when, at the age of twenty-four, he was found to have a highly malignant bone cancer. His right leg was amputated in a bid to save his life, but later that year the cancer reappeared. By March 1976 he was expected to live for only a few weeks.
Both Ian and his wife Gayle were convinced there had to be some way of conquering cancer and set out to find it. Together they explored all the available treatments, both conventional and non conventional."
